Two new TV series for you to get hooked on in 2016!

Binged out on Making a Murderer? All out of Orange is the New Black? Fear not, like a TV remote control with wings, I have two brand new shows from America that you are going to want to get stuck into!

First up. A financial thriller that sees New York hedge fund billionaire Bobby "Axe" Axelrod (Damien Lewis) playing a game of cat and mouse against U.S Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti).

Who doesn't love Damian Lewis in everything he has been in?

Band of Brothers. One of the greatest TV shows on planet earth if not THE greatest war TV series ever.

Homeland. His portrayal as Nicholas Brody has had the whole world tuning in each week to this twist on the political/terrorist thriller genre. Then there has been Life, Colditz, Wolf Hall. The list goes on.

I think this will be a big player on the television scene in 2016. Expect slick dialogue, Wall street power plays and government informants.

Shades of Blue
Now here is a sentence I didn't expect to say anytime soon, there is a new TV series with Jennifer Lopez in about dirty cops and it is bloody brilliant! I'm not even joking. And, it has one of my all time heroes playing opposite lead to J-Lo, Ray Liotta. Along side this cast we also see a familiar face from TV movie gold, The Sopranos and Sons of Anarchy, Drea de Matteo (lets just forget about Joey).

This focuses on an NYPD unit who are definitely not squeaky clean in their efforts to keep the bad guys off the streets. They make ends meet whilst ensuring drugs aren't killing school kids and serious crime and violence is way down. Though they do allow a lot of other shady goings on to exist under their noses as long as they are in the know.... That is until the FBI finds out. Cue the classic scenario of undercover informant territory which no matter how many times is used as a plot device is amazing and makes for TV we all want to watch!
